Claiming a listing someone created for you

3 min read · Updated 2026-10-19

Sometimes your property reaches Zi-Find before you do. There are two kinds of link you might be sent, and both let you take over your listing without paying anything.

1. A claim link from the Zi-Find team

If our team built a listing for you to save you the typing, you'll receive a link that opens a page titled Claim your listing — "We uploaded a listing for you. Take a look?"

  1. Open the link. You'll see a preview of the listing: address, photo, beds, baths, and description.
  2. Enter your name and your email. We'll send a sign-in link to that email — no password needed.
  3. Tell us whether it's right: Yep, looks accurate or Something's off. If something is off, write what to fix; we review it before publishing.
  4. Choose what operators see on the public card:
    • Gated — neighborhood only on the card. Operators see the neighborhood, bedrooms, bathrooms, and rent; the full address is shared once they message you.
    • Open — full address on the card. Faster to match, typical for owner listings.
    • Hide the unit / apt number until they message, and Show photos on the listing (turn off if your photos are recognisable elsewhere online).
    • An optional note to operators.
  5. Press Confirm + claim listing.

The listing becomes yours, and we email you a link to sign in. Owner listings are reviewed and go live within about 24 to 72 hours; a listing claimed by a licensed realtor publishes immediately.

If the link has expired, ask whoever sent it for a new one. If it says the listing has already been claimed and that was you, sign in from the login page by requesting a new email link.

2. A personal listing link from a contributor

Some people on Zi-Find (we call them finders or contributors) help owners get their properties listed. If one of them worked with you, they may send you their own link to a page titled List your property.

  1. Open the link. It shows who sent you, by first name.
  2. Enter the property address, unit, city, state, bedrooms, bathrooms, and monthly rent.
  3. Under How to reach you, add your name, email, and phone. Operators contact you directly — your details are what appear on the listing, not the contributor's.
  4. Optionally add anything else worth knowing, and press Submit your property.

You don't need an account first. We email you afterwards with a link to set one up, along with a one-click question asking you to confirm you're open to subleasing — see Confirming sublease approval.

Does the contributor get paid by me?

No. They receive credit from Zi-Find for bringing the property in. It costs you nothing, it is not a fee, and you remain the contact on your own listing. If you're already signed in and use their link, the Add a property form tells you this too.

Good to know

  • Only claim or submit a property you own or are authorised to lease.
  • Once claimed, manage the listing like any other: My Properties → click the property. See Managing your listing.
  • If you didn't expect any of this, or the property isn't yours, reply to the email that brought you here and a person will read it.
