Why we ask owners "How did you hear about us?"

2 min read · Updated 2026-10-19

After you add a property, you may see one optional question: One last thing — how did you hear about us? It's there because many owners hear about Zi-Find from a person, not an ad, and asking is the only way we can tell. Your answer never affects your listing.

When you'll see it

  • In the app, right after you submit a property, on the Your property is in screen. Your property is already saved at that point.
  • On a contributor's listing page, as an optional section at the bottom.
  • By email, once, after your first listing goes live — if you haven't already answered.

You'll only ever be asked until you answer once. After that we don't ask again.

The options

  • Someone reached out to me
  • Instagram or TikTok
  • Google search
  • A friend or colleague
  • Somewhere else

Some options ask a short follow-up, such as who reached out or where you saw us. Those are optional too.

Answering from the email

Each option in the email opens a page with that answer preselected. Nothing is recorded until you press confirm on that page — so an email security filter that opens links can't answer for you.

Good to know

  • Skipping is fine. In the app, press No thanks (or Skip).
  • Naming a person who told you about us doesn't give them access to your listing or your details.
  • Your first answer is the one we keep.

FAQ

Does my answer change how my listing is shown?

No. Nothing about your listing, its review, or who can see it depends on whether you answer or what you choose.

I answered in the app. Will I still get the email?

No. Once we have your answer, from any of the three places, we don't ask again.

Someone from Zi-Find called me. Which option is that?

Choose Someone reached out to me. If you remember their name, you can add it.
