Mark a lease signed and get your client to confirm it

2 min read · Updated 2026-10-19

When the lease is signed, you mark it on the placement card. Your client then gets one email from you asking them to confirm, on a page at your own web address. The placement counts as complete only once they confirm.

Mark the lease signed

  1. Open Placements and click the client's card.
  2. In the Lease section, optionally click Attach the lease (optional) and upload it (PDF, image or Word document).
  3. Click Mark lease signed.

Your client is emailed straight away from your address. The card shows Awaiting client until they answer.

Lease signed can't be chosen from the Stage menu — it says "use the button below". That's deliberate: a lease is your mark, confirmed by your client, never something a fact moves a card into.

What your client sees

The email links to a short page on your free branded address or your own domain. They either confirm the lease is signed, or say it isn't signed yet. Opening the link alone changes nothing — they have to press the button.

What the card says next

  • Confirmed — "confirmed it's signed — this placement counts as complete."
  • Not yet — "said it isn't signed yet. Check in, then send the confirmation again."
  • Waiting — "You marked it signed. Waiting for … to confirm."

While you're waiting you can:

  • Send again — re-sends the confirmation email.
  • Copy confirm link — copy it and send it yourself (by text, for example).
  • Download the lease you attached.

If the email didn't go

  • No email on file: the card says so. Copy the link and send it yourself, or add their email in Contacts.
  • Didn't go through: try again, or copy the link.
  • Your email isn't connected: the confirmation is held. Connect your own email first. See Connect your own email.

Good to know

  • A lost placement can't be marked signed. Move it back to a stage first, then mark the lease.
  • The email uses your "Confirm the lease" wording from Automations. You can change the words, but it is always sent and must keep the confirm link.
  • Zi-Find is not a party to the lease — it's between the operator and the landlord — and Zi-Find takes no cut of it.
