How to browse the marketplace for sublease-approved rentals

3 min read · Updated 2026-10-19

The Marketplace is where you browse rentals whose owners have approved a sublease, listed by owners, finders, realtors, and other operators handing off a lease. Open Marketplace in the sidebar (or Find on your phone) to see what is live, on a map and in a list side by side.

How to browse

  1. Click Marketplace in the sidebar.
  2. Type a city or ZIP into the City or ZIP box. The map and the list both narrow to that area.
  3. Narrow the results with the filter pills:
    • Type: Owner Direct, Sourced by Finder, or Lease Transfers. See Filtering by listing type.
    • Beds: 1+, 2+, 3+ or 4+.
    • Rent: a monthly rent band.
  4. Use Sort above the results to order by Newest or Lowest rent.
  5. Move the map to another area and click Search this area to see what is there. Click Show all to go back.
  6. Click any card to open a quick preview. The card's link also works as a normal link, so you can open it in a new tab or copy it.

Click Reset at any time to clear your filters.

Reading the cards

Each card shows photos (when the lister added them), rent, beds and baths, and a badge. Approved for sublease means the owner has agreed in writing that the place can be subleased. Cards also show who listed the property: Listed by Agent for a licensed realtor, Sourced by Finder, Owner Direct, or Lease Transfer, plus a short line about any fee (for example "Finder fee — negotiate directly").

Before you subscribe

You can browse without a paid plan. You see photos, specs, rent, and the neighborhood, but the exact address, the description, and the ability to message the lister are part of Pro Host and Elite Host. Click Unlock full access on any locked screen to subscribe; you return to the marketplace already upgraded. See Reading a listing.

Good to know

  • Listings come and go. Listers are asked every couple of weeks whether their property is still available, and listings they stop confirming are hidden, so what you see is current.
  • Save a search you run often. Your filters can be saved with a name, and we will email you when something new matches. See Saved searches and alerts.
  • An approved sublease is the owner's permission to sublease, not a guarantee your city or HOA allows short-term rentals. Always check local rules yourself.
  • The dashboard's Browse Pre-Vetted Properties card opens the same inventory in a list view.

Why does the map show an area instead of a pin?

Until you have marketplace access, or when a lister has chosen to keep their address private, the map shows the general area rather than the exact spot. Message the lister to get the address.

I don't see anything in my city. What now?

Save the search or the market so you are told when something lands, and tell us what you want under Tell us what you're looking for. You can also send us specific properties to work from Submissions.
